The Perfect Pink Palette

Old Navy dress | Galeries Lafayette scarf {purchased in Paris, similar style} | Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers | Hermes Constance handbag {available in stores} | Diane von Furstenberg sunglasses | Zayver Jewels cuff

How is it already almost July? I don't know about you, but I would love it if time would slow down a little bit, but I guess the saying is true, "Time flies when you're having fun."

Speaking of fun, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. This past weekend my fiance and I enjoyed a staycation at the Hotel Zaza.  What's better than playing tourist in your own city?  From their amazing spa, to the poolside cabanas and afternoon macarons and lemonade, I highly suggest checking out this fun hotel.  Whether you're a Houstonian or pop in from out of town , you won't be disappointed.

The Zaza is located in the Museum District, one of my favorite parts of the city. As self-proclaimed museum buff, I love seeing the new exhibits at the Fine Arts Museum and exploring the other unique museums that the city has to offer. This t-shirt dress from Old Navy is perfect for a day spent exploring, no matter what city you are in. Even better, it comes in several colors and sizes (XS to XXL) and it's only $22 - that's a win in my book!

Nothing is better when you're on your feet all day then a pair of tennis shoes. I was hesitant to jump on this trend earlier this year (I definitely am partial to high heels, as I'm sure you've noticed), but have been surprised how easy it is to work them into my wardrobe. I hadn't owned a pair of  Converse sneakers since I was a kid, and now I cannot get enough of them. They look great paired with everything!

Stay stylish, and enjoy these last few days of June before they're gone.

Casual Friday

Paige Denim shorts | Michael Stars t-shirt | Galeries Lafayette scarf {bought in Paris, similar style} | Tory Burch leopard espadrilles {last season, similar style} | GiGi New York Uber clutch | Zayver Jewels cuff {similar style

TGIF!!!

Friday's are all about finishing off the work week and gearing up for the weekend.

Nothing says weekend ready like a pair of shorts, and these white boyfriend shorts are no exception. I love wearing as much white as possible during the summer because it goes perfect with a suntan! There's no better accessory than sun kissed skin.

Another great accessory during the summer (and year round) is a lightweight scarf. Scarves are an easy and fun way to accent your outfit. I purchased this colorful scarf when I was in Paris in March and hadn't worn it yet. I was searching through my closet for a shirt to go with it and came across this comfortable and soft, Michael Stars tee. You could also pair it with a tank top or summer sweater, in colors ranging from white, to orange, or coral.

I love mixing patterns, so I added the leopard print Tory Burch espadrilles to this look. Prints are a lot easier to mix than you may think. My rule of thumb is let one pattern be the bolder brighter print, while the other stays neutral. This will keep your outfit chic without looking like you're trying too hard. Another fun way to style patterns is mixing a nautical stripe shirt - think white and red or navy and white - with a floral print skirt. If that idea is a little too much for you, consider mixing a horizontal stripe top, with a vertical striped bottom.

Enjoy your weekend!

Retro Glam

Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress | Elaine Turner cork heels | Balenciaga Classic Mini purse | Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses | Walmart statement necklace (only $5!!!)

Happy hump day!

How fun and evocative of the '70's is this darling DVF dress. I love so many different brand names and designers, but I have to admit, nothing makes me feel more feminine and put together quite like Diane von Furstenberg's clothing does - she is a true woman's woman.

After reading her book, 'The Woman I Wanted To Be,' late last year, it was remarkable how forward thinking Diane von Furstenberg was at such a young age, and how unapologetic she has always been for being herself and more importantly, a woman. In the book and in countless interviews as well, there's nothing she likes more than empowering women, and believes that a woman can do everything a man does...but in a dress! :)

This dress is based off her iconic wrap dress that catapulted her to fame in the late '70's.  This style is called the "New Yahzi" and comes in a multitude of colors and patterns. What makes this different from its counterpart, is that it is sleeveless and doesn't have a collar, making it more young and modern.

I topped off the dress with this fantastic statement necklace from Walmart. Yes, Walmart! Never underestimate what you'll find when you go there. For the cost (only $5!) I expected to get a few wears out of it before the stones started to fall out, but I have been pleasantly surprised after wearing it at least a dozen times, that it is really well made! Since then, I have been back and purchased three more necklaces - it doesn't have to be expensive to look good!

Head-to-Toe in Trina Turk

Trina Turk shorts | Trina Turk tank top | Trina Turk blazer {last season, similar style} | Jimmy Choo gladiator cage heels {last season, similar style} | Forever 21 tribal pom pom necklace | Go Jane retro cat eye sunglasses

Nothing says summer quite like bright, vibrant colors!

As soon as I spotted these Trina Turk shorts at her namesake boutique, I knew they had to come home with me! I absolutely love the playful zebra print, and the fact that you can pair them with basically any color. Throw on a t-shirt and sandals for an easy summer outfit, or dress them up with heels, a sexy white blazer and flowy tank top like I did. The white blazer adds some extra pop to these already bold shorts, while still keeping the look fresh and refined.

To make this outfit even more summery, I added this fun (and inexpensive!) pom pom necklace from Forever 21. Pom poms are on everything this season and I love it - they make me reminiscent of making crafts when I was younger.  I absolutely love hunting for jewelry and accessories at stores like Forever 21, H&M, Topshop, and Target. It is fun to play around with trends while not breaking the bank. At these stores, you can definitely afford to buy a few unique pieces!

I hope your Monday morning is off to a great start...time for that second cup of coffee!

Everyday Casual

New York & Company blouse | Frame Denim jeans | Alexander Wang boots [sold out, similar style] | Zayver Jewels necklace [one-of-a-kind, similar style] | Prada Saffiano purse

My style tends to be on the dressier side, but when I get my hands on the perfect pair of jeans, I cannot get enough of them. I was introduced to Frame denim by the amazing ladies at Cakewalk Style Shop last year. I absolutely love shopping at boutiques, and Cakewalk is one of my favorite ones in Houston.  They carry a wide range of designers, and their space is so inviting and charming that you never want to leave.

What attracted me to these jeans (I now own six pairs in different colors), was the fact that they were fitted, but when you sat down, they were still comfortable and your stomach wasn't bulging over the top of them - hey, we've all been there! They also have a Lycra spandex blend, which gives you just the right amount of stretch, while still flattering your figure.

I stumbled upon this darling script blouse while I was out shopping for a client. When I looked and saw that it was on sale and only $10, I couldn't resist. I wanted to keep with the black and white theme, so I paired it with these Alexander Wang booties that my fiance bought for me. Aren't they fun? To round out this casual chic look, I topped it with a summer-ready turquoise necklace and gold bracelets.

Seafoam Dream

David Peck dress | Musette shoes [not available online, similar style] | H&M necklace [old, similar style] | Dior earrings

I purchased these gorgeous floral high heels when I was in Paris for two weeks this March. When I saw them through the store window, they were screaming my name. If the shoe fits, buy it, right?! I absolutely love the metallic silver rosette appliques on them - they are so unique and feminine. Normally when picking out what to wear, I start with my outfit first. In this case, I started with these heels, and based the rest of the outfit off them.

This shimmery iridescent David Peck dress is definitely the perfect complement to these shoes. I absolutely love how the fabric looks silver from far away, and it isn't until you're up close that you can see the true color. Seafoam is one of my favorite colors, and I wanted to play up the hue in the dress by pairing it with a bold statement necklace that featured the same color. When it comes to accessories, I think more is always better, but you can easily let the shoes be the only statement piece for this outfit, and forgo a necklace.

Truth be told, I have this dress in three different colors/fabrics, one of which is pink and gold tweed that I wore to my engagement party earlier this year. My mom always told me, if you love something and it looks good on you, buy it it every color it comes in. I blame my shopping addiction on her ;) haha

Orange Is The New Black

Dress [old, similar style] | H&M blazer [old, similar style] | Franco Sarto wedges chloe + isabel necklace | Ray-ban sunglasses

Who else was thrilled that 'Orange Is the New Black,' premiered this past weekend? If you're anything like me, your weekend consisted of not moving from the couch and binge watching the entire season. Can life get any better? To kick off a new week, I wanted to wear an outfit inspired by the name of the show!

Nothing brightens a Monday better than a pop of color. If you haven't realized yet, I absolutely love color. Wearing color has this strange way of completely changing your mood - if you look good, you feel good. This bold geometric pattern completely dresses up an otherwise simple t-shirt dress, making it anything but ordinary. To add just a bit more sophistication to the dress, I paired it with a matching blazer. Remember how I said I love H&M blazers? Well, this darling cropped one is from there too.

If you tend to shy away from bold patterns or bright colors, try working them into your wardrobe in subtle ways. Scarves, belt and shoes are a great starting place when you're experimenting with something new. These accessories can add just enough pop to your outfit, without being too dramatic.

Elaine Turner Benefit Party

David Peck jumpsuit | Issac Mizrahi heels | Diane von Furstenberg wristlet | Necklace purchased while traveling in Turkey [similar style]

I had the privilege of hosting an event last month at designer, Elaine Turner's store. If you haven't heard of her, you need to check her out - she's a must in my book. Think perfect, comfy wedges, trendy handbags, accessories and now, a newly added clothing line. Everything is to die for (but I'm sure you can already see that from the photos)!

Elaine Turner is amazing at giving back, so it was natural that I wanted to host a party benefiting the Arthritis Foundation there. Philanthropy is something that is very important to me, and I always like giving back to causes that are near and dear to my heart. What's better than grabbing your girlfriends and spending a night out shopping to raise money for a deserving charity!

This jumpsuit has to be one of the most complimented outfits I have ever worn!  I have been waiting for it to be finished since the day I ordered it back in March. It was love at first sight when I saw it at David Peck's Spring/Summer '15 preview luncheon.  From the yummy berry color, to the silky material, it will definitely be getting a lot of wear this season.

Jumpsuits and rompers are perfect for the summer and are a great alternative to dresses, while still providing the same ease. They're also versatile because they look great dressed up or down! I can't wait to pair this with strappy sandals, stacked bangles and an oversized hat for a more casual look. I'd love to know how you like to style these perfect one-pieces!

Have a great weekend!

The Perfect Pop of Neon

BCBG dress [old, similar style] | Just Fab shoes [old, similar style] | DVF sunglasses | Zayver Jewels earrings

There's nothing I like more than an outfit that can take me from day-to-night. This dress is perfect for work, but also great for a night out. The pattern and color combination on this BCBG dress was the first thing that caught my eye when I spotted it at an outlet last year. The cobalt blue and electric yellow is so unique and fun. The floral print is also perfect for the spring and summer months.

Yellow is such a happy color, which is why I wanted to match my shoes to the same hue in the dress. These shoes are one of my favorite pairs and I always get a lot of compliments on them. I got them last year from Just Fab, so they're no longer available, but if you're a shoe addict like me, you'll definitely want to check out their website for some other trendy and inexpensive options.

Wrap dresses are also perfect for traveling, because most are made of silk jersey, so they don't wrinkle. You could pair this dress with black sandals and a jean jacket for a more casual look, or switch it up with cage heels and a bold statement necklace for a girl's night out. The possibilities are endless!

Hope you're having a great week!

Dressing Up Distressed Denim

Paige Denim boyfriend shorts | H&M stripe blazer [old, similar style] | Solemio skull tank top [old, similar style] | Michael Kors snakeskin pump [red sold out, similar style] | Gucci handbag [vintage, similar style] | Prada sunglasses | Forever 21 necklace [old, similar style] | Kendra Scott earrings

It's no surprise that I love jeans just as much as the next girl. When summer rolls around, there is nothing easier than slipping into a pair of jean shorts and you're good to go. Jeans are basically a neutral, so they work with everything.  That is why I always love to push myself and experiment with different trends, and go for a different style every time I wear them.

These distressed denim shorts have been getting a lot of wear since the weather has gotten warmer. I've been pairing them with everything from a denim shirt for a 'denim-on-denim' look, to the perfect summer weight sweater and gladiator sandals. This time, I wanted a look that was edgy and sophisticated at the same time - the perfect juxtaposition. The skull tank top and ripped denim shorts helped satisfy my edgy vibe, while the blazer and pointed toe heels provide the sophisticated feel I was going for.

Blazers are one of my favorite wardrobe staples. I often tell my clients to think outside the box when they hear the word, 'blazer.' I feel like whenever people think about blazers, they think buttoned up and stuffy, when in actuality, blazers are anything but. This striped blazer from H&M is made of cotton, which gives it a more modern feel. I am obsessed with H&M's blazers - they truly are the best. My closet is filled with blazers in every color of the rainbow - some are cropped, have embellishment, have fun patterns and even zippers, making them young, fresh and very me.

Until next time!
