Fiesta Dress

David Peck dress | Elaine Turner heels | Zayver Designs necklace & bracelet | Elaine Turner earrings

So long September! Can you believe it's the first day of October tomorrow? I love when October rolls around because it's the start of decorating season - Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and of course Christmas, and lastly but definitely not least, comes my birthday month in January. I love adding holiday flare to the house. Okay, maybe a little too much, but I just can't resist. I was a bit overexcited to have a whole room in our new place solely devoted to all the decorations I've accumulated over the years (no judgement, please!!).

You may recognize the pattern of this David Peck dress from a post I did back in August. Clearly I'm a fan. I love all the colors in it and the the silk material feels like butter, making it oh so comfortable. It can be dressed up or down, and the collar and razor back give it a more casual vibe.

Even though it is Fall, I still can't resist wearing bright colors. Plus, it's still pretty hot here in Houston, so I need to remind myself that it's autumn and no longer summer. I must admit though, I am crossing my fingers for cooler weather. Maybe in December? haha.

I hope you have a great day and I'll see you on Friday.

Flower Child

Langford Market dress & belt | Valentino Rockstud heels {previous season, here and here} | Vintage necklace from my grandmother (hi, Meme!!) | Zayver Designbracelet & earrings

Hello Friday! The weekend couldn't have come soon enough. I can't wait to just sleep, sleep and sleep some more. I also can't wait to get my furbaby, Safari, back and welcome her into our new home. She has been on vacation (aka doggy daycare) since Monday because if I thought packing was making me crazy, she definitely was on a different level. Pets are so silly. Any time I would turn my back, bubble wrap would have disappeared or she would be shredding paper or eating boxes. I think all of us will enjoy a weekend of rest, relaxation and some Netflix binge watching.

Speaking of vacation, as I'm sure you guessed, these photos we're taken a few weeks ago when we were in Mexico. The last of my vacation photos are trickling in, and let me tell you, I am already itching to go on another one (at the very least, a spa day is in order after the work and stress of the move).

Slowly but surely the new place is coming together, and I'm actually shocked how decent it looks after being here only 24 hours. The icing on the cake was getting to celebrate last night - after all the boxes were unloaded, furniture was unpacked and we were finally able get the last person out the door - with our moving ritual, fancy champagne and delivery pizza!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'm looking forward to catching up on Monday:)

Boldly Belted

David Peck t-shirt dress | Vintage belt that my mother used to wear!! | Elaine Turner heels | House of Harlow 1960 necklace | Zayver Designs earrings | Elaine Turner Ava bracelet Caitlin bangle | Brenda Grands bracelet

Today is not only moving day (I haven't ripped my hair out just yet), but also my mother's birthday!

In honor of her birthday I had to be sure to incorporate one of my favorite accessories she gave me a few years back, this amazing Asian inspired belt. Can't you just picture it taking center stage in the 80's with leggings and an over-sized sweater? I love the color combination in the belt, and the gold, masked embellishments - it truly is a conversation piece.

It was the perfect addition to this simple David Peck shirt dress, and complemented the soft peach color. Since the belt is pretty bold, I wanted to be sure to keep my accessories fairly simple. Although I can never go without any, this was my way of 'toning' it down. As long as you stay within the same color scheme, the outfit will remain refined, and not look too busy.

I hope you have a great day and I'm looking forward to seeing you on Friday, from my new home!

Staycation In Style

Old Navy dress | Bird leather jacket {previous season, similar style} | L'Italia leopard scarf  | Dolce Vita booties {previous season, similar style} | Elaine Turner 'Taylor' handbag  | Phase 3 fedora | H&M necklace {previous season, similar style} | Zayver Designs cuff and earrings | Elaine Turner bracelet

A new week has begun, and I am still wrapping my head around the fact that we're more than halfway through September. Since a lot of my recent outfits have been from our vacation and more on the summery side, I thought this olive striped dress from Old Navy would be perfect way to transition into Fall.

I have been carrying this Elaine Turner bag non-stop since I got it, and anyone who knows me will tell you that I am notorious for switching up my handbags on a daily basis. One of the reasons I cannot stop using it, is because it literally fits everything, which is perfect for any girl on the go - iPad, wallet, calendar, you name it. The exposed zipper detailing on the handles gives it an edge, making the simple silhouette far from ordinary. Plus, it has a detachable shoulder strap which is great for travel, or any time you want to be handsfree.

Elaine Turner has teamed up with my favorite Houston hotel, the Hotel Zaza, to give one lucky winner a "Staycation in Style" (please see photo below for details). Even if you aren't from Houston or even Texas for that matter, this is one giveaway you do not want to miss. To enter, simply click here.

Good luck and I hope you have a great start to your week!

Palm Tree Dream

Olivaceous romper | Sam Edelman sandals | Zayver Designs necklacebracelet & ear cuff | Ray-Ban sunglasses

Although palm trees weren't indigenous to anywhere I lived as a child, I've always loved them. When I see one, I can't help but smile and be reminded of some of my fondest family memories. My family traveled to Florida almost every year while I was growing up. The yearly trip to Florida would usually be made at Christmas, and it would bring the whole family together - grandma, grandpa, cousins, uncles and aunts - the whole shebang. We would always have so much fun spending time together by the pool, on the beach and going to movies on rainy days.

It came as no surprise that I felt a bit nostalgic when I saw this darling Olivaceous romper at local Houston boutique, Wildbloom. I purchased it right before we went to Mexico, and knew it would be a great addition to a beach vacation. The look could not be complete with out this stunning necklace, bracelet and earcuff (amazing), all from Zayver Designs. It helps having a friend that's a jewelry designer that's always willing to lend you some gorgeous gems when you travel! I'm definitely spoiled.

Enjoy your weekend and have some fun!

Desert Oasis

Diane von Furstenberg romper | Elaine Turner heels | H&M necklace {similar style} | Elainer Turner Ava bracelet in coralturquoise and mother of pearl

It's only halfway through the week and it's already been a blur. I move a week from today, so life has been very unglamorous and has consisted of bubble wrap, boxes and masking tape. So let's just pretend I'm packing in something as chic as this Diane von Furstenberg wrap romper. I absolutely love the color of this romper and how the bold Ikat print stands out against the 'desert' backdrop.

How picture perfect is this setting? It was outside of the Mexican restaurant at the Excellence Resort, Adam and I stayed at last week in Playa Mujures. We planned our trip last minute (not my favorite thing to do!), but it definitely was the perfect excuse to get a nice, relaxing break before the move.

One upside of moving that I enjoy, is getting to completely redecorate a new space. I love changing things up, and making each room look different than it did the last time. That doesn't mean buying brand new furniture, bedding or artwork, but switching up what rooms they were in, how they were displayed and where they were located - it's like styling, but for your home!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!!

Blue Paradise

Old Navy maxi dress | A'Gaci belt {similar style} | Sandals purchased while traveling in Capri, Italy | Zayver Designs bracelet & earrings

Hello, Monday! I hope you had  a wonderful weekend. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful here in Houston.

As promised, I am sharing some of our vacation photos with you. We enjoyed a wonderful five days in Playa Mujeres last week, and the trip was perfect. We relaxed, read, and of course got a suntan and had our share of food and cervesas.

Going with the casual vibe of our vacation, this beautiful, ethereal Old Navy maxi dress was the perfect compliment. This dress is now on sale for less than $20 and let me tell you, it is comfortable and the perfect outfit for brunch, a day spent running errands, or a simple date night. I love the ruffles around the neckline, and the slit up the side. There is nothing worse than having clothing that doesn't flow with your movements. This floral dress would not have been complete without these brilliant blue earrings, and bold cuff from my favorite Houston jeweler, Zayver Designs. I love to think ahead and plan my outfits and accessories accordingly, so they go with the vibe, environment and setting of wherever I am traveling to. That way, the colors match perfectly:)

I hope you have a great start to the week.

Feminine Feline

Mother Denim leopard pants {similar herehere and here} | Solemio tank top {similar style here and here} | Miu Miu heels {similar style} | Balenciaga clutch | Balenciaga sunglasses  Museum Eye | Adolfo Dominguez necklace {similar style} | Tiffany & Co cuff

Happy Friday!

I am missing the sound of the ocean and the beach already. Now, it's time to hunker down and start packing. I can't believe we are moving in two weeks. Moves are so daunting and time consuming. But, what I always appreciate is the fact that it makes you go through all your stuff and decide what you need and what you don't, allowing you to declutter. Isn't it funny how many things you forget you have until you start packing up all your cabinets and drawers?

We're just moving to a different neighborhood so luckily it'll be "one and done" in a day, and we are so excited for our new place. And let me tell you about the master closet, it is unbelievable. Adam is convinced I solely pick places to look at based on their closet space/size. That may, or may not be true haha.

This outfit is one of my favorites. The pants are so comfortable, as I've come to expect from all Mother Denim, and have just the right amount of give while still being fitted. I have been wearing these Balenciaga sunglasses non-stop since I got them. I love the white to black gradient change, and of course I always love a cat-eye frame. I got them from Museum Eye in Houston, where all Balenciaga frames are 25% off, and they have been kind enough to offer an extra 10% discount to my readers - just use promo code anstyle10

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Mint Green Tribal Dream

KLD Signature dress {similar style here and here} | Sam Edelman sandals | Elaine Turner clutch | Prada sunglasses | H&M necklace {in store, similar style} | Bracelets purchased in Africa

A little tribal print and fringe is a great way to start off the day!

I've been eyeing this Elaine Turner clutch for months and finally gave in after my surgery when I was laid up in bed - I definitely did way too much online shopping those few days! Plus, it's on sale, so I couldn't resist, and happy I did because I have been using it all the time. Recently, I paired it with jeans and a t-shirt, as well as my outfit from Monday's post. I love it with this kimono style tribal print dress. This dress is easily dressed down (as shown) or dressed up with wedges. My mom is convinced it is supposed to be a top (haha, it's not that short is it?!), so you could also pair it with black leggings and heels or a pair of distressed denim shorts for a perfect casual weekend look.

We return from Isla Mujeres tomorrow, so we are soaking in every last bit of vacation while we can. I hope you're getting back into the swing of things with the work week, and I look forward to sharing our vacation pictures with you soon! Be sure to follow along with me on Facebook and Instagram

Home is Where the Heart Is

H&M skirt {similar style here and here} and blazer {similar style} | The Home T Texas Y'all t-shirt  | Jimmy Choo heels {similar style} | Roberto Cavalli sunglasses ℅  Museum Eye | H&M necklace {in store, similar style} | Henri Bendel bracelets {previous season, similar style} |  House of Harlow 1960 ring

Happy Labor Day! I hope you are enjoying your day off, and the long weekend,

Home is where the heart is, right? I've always taken pride in anywhere I have lived, and being in Texas now, that sense of pride is one of the most resounding aspects I noticed since day one with the locals/natives. As I've mentioned before, it took me a while to warm up to Houston. It was drastically different then the small towns I grew up in, and polar opposite of San Francisco, a city where you did not need a car. But, what I learned quickly was how genuinely kind, helping and interested people were in getting to know you or lending you a helping hand whenever they could - it was a breath of fresh air. Although I don't know how long we'll be in Texas, it definitely is home for now, and somewhere I'm glad I've had the chance experience.

What better way to show my state pride then with this perfect ya'll (insert Southern twang!) t-shirt from The Home T. If you're not from Texas, not to worry, they have all 50 states covered. They have a range of t-shirt styles, sweatshirts, as well as totes and onesies for the little ones. They also donate 10% of their proceeds to Multiple Sclerosis  research and are made in the good old USA.

I always like adding my own twist when styling my clothing, and thought dressing up something like a tee that is seen as a casual go-to, was the perfect juxtaposition. This shirt is so soft, and paired perfectly with this quilted animal print skirt. To add some extra sophistication, I topped off the look with my new Roberto Cavalli sunglasses thanks to Museum Eye here in Houston, where all Cavalli frames are 25% off. Museum Eye offers a wide range of designer sunglasses and eyeglasses, all at a discount! Be sure to visit their website and get an extra 10% off using promo code, anstyle10
