The Perfect Transitional LBD

The weekend is finally here! This week came and went like the snap of a finger.....and it's almost October!

October is my favorite month because fall is my favorite season. I love when the leaves start changing and falling perfectly -  I definitely do miss seasons since living in a climate that basically has summer (and five cold days) year-round. Halloween is also in October, and happens to be my favorite holiday ever! I've already put up all my decorations. #overzealous!

What I also love about the changing seasons is the fact that over the knee boots, coats, sweaters and scarves are brought out. Also, updates on your favorite pieces, like this knit LBD. I don't often wear black, but when I do, I want to make a statement. I felt like a sexy, Morticia Addams in this number (and also thought that I need a tan)! I absolutely loved the the lace bottom, and the midriff cutout - it definitely takes this dress up a notch. The mid, tea length is perfect, and right on trend, as well. Plus, it hugs in all the right places, while still leaving enough to the imagination.

Have a fun weekend!

TGIF everyone!

Have I told you about my new BFF? She's sleek, keeps my house squeaky clean, and has been a life changer. No, not Safari, but my new bObi Pet Robotic Vacuum Cleaner & Mop

Since moving into our new house and having hardwood floors installed throughout, it has been difficult to keep up with all the cleaning. Who knew dust and hair would be so much easier to see on dark wood!?! Although we've loved every minute of having the hardwoods, our bi-weekly housekeeper just wasn't cutting it.

We started looking at robotic vacuums and comparing reviews, prices, and what each had to offer. We wanted something that was safe and gentle on the floors, and would't drive Safari too crazy. When I stumbled upon the bObsweep website, all my prayers were answered.

Almost a year ago, bObsweep unveiled a new product called bObi Pet. This small contraption is just under 4 inches, making it easy to slide under even the most challenging pieces of furniture. Also, unlike other robotic vacuums, bObi Pet mops and sanitizes. Can you say amazing? bObi has a UV light underneath that does the sanitizing, a mop attachment to leave your floors sparkling, and a HEPA filter which traps allergens and pet dander. This was a major plus for me since my allergies have gone bananas since moving to Houston.

Other pluses: You can customize her schedule, so she can do all the dirty work (no pun intended), at your convenience. You can also set up bObi blOck to create a digital barrier, 'roping' off sections of your home you want the vacuum to stay away from - whether that's breakable items, or somewhere where there are a lot of wires and cords that could get tangled in her bristles/brushes. blOck is included with all bObi Pet's, which is a great selling point - with other models, it is sold separately. But, what really made me pick bObi over other competitors, is that she can be moved from floor to floor, and has no issues. Most robotic vacuums require you to buy multiples, as they can only memorize one floor. Not bObi, she's got all four floors in our house covered - you go girl!

We've now had bObi at home with us for just about three weeks, and she's been working her tail off everyday, It is wonderful coming home to floors that are constantly clean, and we truly have no complaints - besides the fact that we wish we would have got one sooner. She has a great battery life, re-docks herself in her charging station when she needs 'juice,' and is completely self sufficient (besides emptying out all the dirt she picks up).

The jury is still out on how Safari feels - there's been a lot of barking involved to say the least.

P.S. This outfit has me so ready for Fall! I am obsessed with this tie neck sweater from Chicwish, and am loving these Mott & Bow jeans!

At Home with Sherwin-Williams - Office Reveal

Soon after purchasing our home, I partnered with Sherwin-Willaims to help me completely re-do the house. As I mentioned several posts ago, the endeavor of painting the house floor-to-ceiling, was much larger (and more stressful) then I expected. What I did know, was that color changes everything, and sets the perfect mood/flow for the house - it truly makes it a home.

After flipping through countless color swatches of what I thought I wanted, I was overwhelmed to say the least. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I truly wanted everything to be perfect and very 'us.' I also wanted the colors to compliment our decor, but also be flexible enough if our taste changes, or evolves. I was put in contact with a ColorSnap Consultant, which is a newly unveiled service that Sherwin-Williams offers at some stores. The consultant comes to your home, brings swatches of ALL the paint colors the company has to offer, and helps make your dreams a reality!

I explained to my consultant what look I was going for with the house, the warm tones I wanted, and what my vision was. Quickly she was sifting through swatches and pulled out six different colors - two for the walls, two for the crown molding, and two accent colors. As she pasted them up on the wall, I literally thought to myself, "That's it!" We settled on the colors for the house almost instantly.

The only room in the house that has a different color scheme is my office. When I shared my ideas with my better half, he was a bit hesitant, but he knows when I have my mind set on something, there's no changing it.

Pink has always been my favorite color, so it was important to me to incorporate it into a room that I spend so much time in. It was also important to me that when all was said and done, it would have a sophisticated, chic look, and not a babyish one. I knew I wanted a pink accent wall, and wanted the rest of the walls white to give it an airy feel (plus, it photographs well!). The final colors we chose for the office were Lovable, the perfect pink color you see, and Nice White. I wanted the room to have a glossy sheen to it, so we picked a Satin finish. The crown molding/accents are consistent with the rest of the house, and stayed the ivory color, creating a subtle, but distinctive difference between the white.

From my new desk, to my growing shoe wall, reimagined bar cart, accent pieces, coffee table books, and everything fashion forward and girly, without a doubt, this is my favorite room in the house. I have linked almost every item above, so you can add some of my must-haves to your home. If there's something I missed, be sure to ask me!
