$50 & Under Perfect Pink Look

Dress | Shoes | Clutch (similar style here & here) | Earrings | Bracelets | Sunglasses

Can you believe everything in this ensemble is less than $50?!?! It's been a while since I've shared a complete budget friendly look with you, and this one is as easy on the wallet as it is on the eyes! I mean who can resist anything with pom-poms?

Although summer is winding down (I can't believe it'll be September next week), this outfit would be perfect for Labor Day festivities, and beach vacations to come. It would also be a great outfit to wear to a pool party, or Sunday brunch.

The dress is a steal at only $15, and I also found two other ones that I love here and here. My earrings were a Target find, and are only $12.99, and come in white too!

I hope this look reminds you that being stylish doesn't always have to be expensive!

Cheers to 100,000!

Gown | Shoes (similar style here & here) | Cuff (similar style here) | Earrings (similar style here & here)

Join me in celebrating reaching 100,000 followers on Instagram! Cheers!!! Truth be told, I'm actually a bit late to the party because now I'm at 115k (eeek?!!!), but I was too nervous to announce it right away, because I didn't want to jinx it!

A few months ago I set a goal for myself to reach 100k by July, and much to my {pleasant} surprise, I hit the big number the beginning of June! When 99 went to 100, I could hardly believe it - it is a goal every influencer hopes to reach...and then exceed.

Ashley Nicole Style started as a styling business and has blossomed into so much more. I am truly so grateful for each and every one of you. If it wasn't for you, I would have never met this milestone. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey, and playing such a huge roll in my success. Nothing has been more rewarding then each and every one of you letting me be part of your daily life.

To show you my appreciation for all your support, I am giving one lucky reader/follower the chance to win a one night stay at the Hotel Alessandra! The overnight stay includes valet parking, and a special spa enhancement when the winner books a treatment at the Spa by Alessandra. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment below!! Winner must be 18+, and will be announced Monday, August 27th!

Blue & White Striped Bell Sleeve Blouse

Jeans | Shirt (similar style here & here) | Purse (similar style here) | Heels (similar style here) | Cuff (similar style here)| Earrings

Happy Hump Day, friends! We are officially halfway through the work week:)

I escaped the Texas heat last week, and came back to Wisconsin to visit my family again. Our massive stucco project has taken over our house all summer, which has been really hard, especially with working from home. They started in June, and were supposed to be done in four weeks, which turned into eight, and now has turned into 10+. To say it has been a burden, strain and inconvenience would be putting it lightly. For sanity's sake, I returned to the Midwest. Fingers crossed when I go back this weekend, all the workers and their scaffolding will be gone, and my house is back to being my sanctuary (vs an insane asylum!!!).

I really hate to use my platform to complain, especially because I've always been a firm believer that you never know what anyone else is going through, and I know this hiccup is just temporary. That being said, I felt like I needed to give a brief explanation as to why things have been a bit stressful around here.

Now that that's out of the way, we can talk about this backdrop and outfit! As I mentioned in my last post, a few weeks ago I was taking photos for Modern Luxury Houston, and the shoot location was at the Hotel Alessandra. I've shot at the hotel before, and they are so wonderful to work with. They're so accommodating, and the property truly is five-star all the way! These photos were taken in their Presidential Suite, which was absolutely stunning, and had it's own patio that had gorgeous views of downtown!

Over the year's, I've searched high and low for the perfect pair of white denim, and when I found these, I knew they were "the one." They have the perfect amount of stretch, and they aren't see through. Also, they have real pockets, which I found is hard to come by on white pants - who knows! They're a little on the pricier side, but if you wear white denim as often as I do, they're seriously worth their weight in gold. They run TTS, but I suggest going one size up if you aren't familiar with the brand. Also, when it comes to white denim, you never want them too tight.

My mom bought this top for me when I was home last month, and unfortunately I can't link it online. I found two similar styles here and here, that are available in all sizes, and on sale! Both are super cute!

See you soon! xo

Day-to-Night Pink Dress

Dress (similar style here & here) | Clutch | Heels (similar here & here) | Necklace | Earrings

Happy Monday!

Remember when I talked last month about how I had recently got the pink version of my favorite dress? Well here it is! You know how much I love this dress, and if it was acceptable, I would wear it everyday! Pink is such a fun and romantic color, and this dress is definitely as bold as it is beautiful. The photos don't quite due the hot pink hue justice.

Also, you might be thinking my hair and makeup in the last few posts looks a bit more formal and over the top than it usually does, which is true!! A few weeks ago, I had a photo shoot for Modern Luxury Houston promoting the Arthritis Foundation's Bone Bash, which I am chairing this year (more on that to come). Of course when you're going to be featured in a magazine, you got to look your best, so I had my hair and makeup done! I figured since I was all airbrushed and Cover Girl ready, I needed to shoot some pictures for the blog, as well. I promise, I don't look like this everyday;) If only I was one of the Kardashian's and had a glam-squad everyday.

Be sure to check back this week for a special celebratory post and a really great giveaway!

White Ruffled Cami Dress

Dress | Belt (vintage; similar style here) | Shoes (similar style here & here) | Bag (under $40!) | Bracelets (from Africa; similar style here) | Earrings | Sunglasses

Labor Day is just around the corner, which means that summer is officially coming to an end, school is about to start, and fall is in the air (unless you live in Texas). It's also that time of year when we're told we have to pack up our white clothes, but I know I'll be wearing this dress on repeat for months to come.

They say that rules are made to be broken, and I am a firm believer that the age old rule of "no white after Labor Day" is one we should definitely throw out the window. When you live in a climate that's warm basically year round, it just seems like a natural go-to!

After a lifetime of being told that white's a fashion "no, no," I actually finally researched where the rule even came from. Here's what I found from an article in Reader's Digest:

"One popular theory dates back to the early 1900s. Many progressive changes were occurring for American women, like the election of the first woman to Congress and the passing of the 19th amendment. Despite these advances, social acceptance for wealthy women was based very much on what you wore—and when you wore it. If you were “on-trend,” you only wore white during the warmer months, since you could probably afford to wear leisurely lightweight clothing—and afford to buy new clothes if you sweat through them. By the 1950s, women’s magazines started making this “no white after Labor Day” ordinance a little more public, basically making the proclamation official. Wearing white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day now signified being part of some kind of wealthy club.

Another theory? White is harder to keep clean in the fall and winter. (Fortunately, nowadays we know a little more about how to keep our white clothing as white as possible.) This theory stems from the fact that most fashion designers resided in the north, specifically New York City, where all four seasons affect wardrobe choices. And since designers reigned in the fashion world, what they said went (even if you lived in a hot climate year-round, apparently)."

Now that we know, will you still be wearing white after Labor Day?
