Pearl Embellished Blazer

Blazer (similar style here & here) | Shirt (similar style) | Leggings | Heels | Purse - under $40! | Earrings | Jeweled Cuff | CuffSunglasses

Spring has officially started, but it never goes out of style to wear an all black ensemble. I must admit, I don't wear black all that often, but when I do, I feel effortlessly pulled together.

This pearl blazer has the perfect touch of flair, and is so fun and girly. Can you believe it's under $10?! Unfortunately it's only available in XS (I'm wearing a small), but I found a similar style here and here that are both under $25!

I love kitschy updates to closet staples, and pearls have been so on-trend lately. Here are some of my favorite pearl embellished pieces!

How to Wear White Year Round

If you caught my post on Friday, I talked about how I love wearing white year round, especially white denim. With so many mixed messages, opinions and rules about white, it's hard to know how to navigate this trend. Whether it's winter or spring, there are several easy ways to master wearing white year round. Here are a few of my foolproof tips!

Add layers. Wear a button up and a trench coat, or a sweater and plaid scarf

Pair white denim with a chic black turtleneck and OTN boots to winterize your look

White boots or pumps pop against an all black ensemble

Use texture - think suede and velvet

Slip white into your wardrobe year round by wearing a white coat with jeans or leather leggings

A white dress goes perfectly with black ankle booties and a moto jacket

Wear a chunky white knit to get your daily dose of the color

White sneakers pack a punch when worn with a dress or another casual look

Spice up your outfit with white accessories - a bold statement necklace, scarf, or ceramic bangle

Denim jackets are effortless when paired with white, like this over-sized boyfriend style I'm wearing

Whatever way you wear it, remember, out with the old and in with the new - white is acceptable to wear everyday of the year. I'd love to hear what ways you incorporate white into your wardrobe this season.

The Perfect Go-Anywhere Dress

Dress | Bag (budget friendly version here) | Wedges (here & here) | Earrings | Bracelet | Sunglasses

TGIF, everyone!

Okay, I cannot start this post off without telling you a quick side note about these photos. This was the last look Lauren and I were shooting the other week, and as we were getting ready to start snapping away, I felt something fall on my head/face. Instinctively I screamed and assumed a bird had pooped on me! Nope, it ended up being a ton of water that was dripping from the rain ducts at this building, and I just happened to be right under it. I don't think I've ever seen her look so concerned - she definitely thought it was way more serious than water! Haha!

Anyways, on to my outfit. This dress is the perfect thing to be wearing rolling into the weekend! It seriously has me itching for vacation and summertime. I wanted to play up the summery colors by pairing it with these bold fuchsia earrings (only $20), and white wedges. You have no idea how many times I've considered donating these shoes. I don't wear them often, but then every once in a while an outfit comes along that goes perfectly with them, so I'm grateful I didn't give them up.

Speaking of white, with Memorial Day right around the corner, I'm so excited start wearing all my white again. In all honesty though, I feel like that "rule" doesn't really exist anymore. Everyone in Houston wears white year round (I think because it's always warm), and I never give up my white denim...even in the middle of winter!

I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend and have a fun St. Patrick's Day! Don't forget to wear green!

Rodeo Ready with Elaine Turner

Shirt | Jeans | Boots (similar style here & here) | Handbag | Belt (vintage, similar style) | Necklace | Earrings | Sunglasses

It's time to dust off your cowboy boots, because it's rodeo season here in Houston. We're approaching the final days of the season, and you don't want to miss your chance to enjoy this favorite Texas pastime. Did you know that the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is the largest in the world? Last year they had a record turnout and welcomed 2.6 million people!

Whether you're heading out to enjoy one of the concerts, to chow down on hot dogs and funnel cake, or ride the ferris wheel, I've found the perfect outfit for you. I mean dressing the part is half the fun right?

It is hard to go wrong with denim when you're going to the rodeo, and this chambray shirt from Elaine Turner has the perfect feminine touches. I love the cold shoulder action, and the ribbon detailing. I would also pair this shirt with a lighter wash of denim, and tie it in the front to create a different look.

I've had these boots for forever, and love how the lavender and turquoise hues match my python tote. The bag also has a detachable strap, which makes it perfect for slinging it over your shoulder when you're playing all the carnival games or dancing to the music! It also comes in cork, which is too cute for summer!

I've teamed up with Elaine Turner to give one lucky winner a $200 gift card! Head to my Facebook or Instagram for all the details on how to enter. The winner will be announced Friday!

Go-Anywhere Embroidered Shift Dress

Dress (wearing size S) | Shoes | Clutch (similar style here) | Earrings | Bracelets | Sunglasses

I love finding a piece of clothing that can serve multiple purposes. This embroidered shift dress is the perfect "go anywhere" outfit. The dark evergreen color makes it easy to wear in spring, summer and fall! I picture myself wearing it to brunch on the weekends (especially if the weather stays as gorgeous as it's been), and I know I'll be taking it with me on my next beach vacation. It's now on sale for under $80, and comes in a great chambray style, too!

I've linked several others that I'm loving below!

The Best OTN Boots Under $40!

Sweater (under $40; wearing size S) | Jeans | Boots (comes in 3 colors; also available here) | Purse | Hat | Earrings | Cuff | Sunglasses

Did you tune into The Bachelor finale last night? I've had a love hate relationship with the show since it started, but I always wind up watching it. I don't know what it is about it that lures me to my tv every Monday, but I just can't seem to peel myself away from it. Maybe it's the crazy story lines, or the fact that it's so totally scripted, but I cannot stop laughing for the two (or three) hours that I watch it. Not to mention I'm totally blown away by the drama, or lack there of this season....until last night! I won't spoil it for you, or bore you with the details if you don't watch it, but one thing's for sure, I am glad to be rid of this season's bachelor, Arie. So boring!

In other news, I was back home in Wisconsin last week visiting my family and I had the best time. We're strewn across the country and don't get to see one another as often as we'd like, so it is nice when we can all get together and have some quality time. I seriously can never get enough. I am so envious of those families that live only miles (or a few hours drive) away from one another! If only...

We shot these before I left to go home, and I think the Houston skyline is the perfect backdrop for this city chic look. I love this pom pom sweater, and am a huge fan of the mustard color. Bonus - it's now on sale for under $40! I know the pom poms may be a bit much for some, but I think they're a cute addition to an otherwise boring staple. I mean, sweaters aren't always the cutest, am I right?!?!

I've also searched high and low all season for the perfect OTN boots that don't fall down, and I have finally found them. This pair is perfect because it has the tie in the back, so you can easily make them looser or tighter depending on your calf size, or what you're wearing. They also come in four other colors and are only $38. With spring just around the corner, I would snag these up in every color as they're the perfect transitional piece.

In Full Bloom

Dress | Shoes | Clutch | Earrings (15% off with code: GOBIG18) | Bracelets | Sunglasses

Happy Wednesday, loves!

From warmer temperatures, to seeing new trends, brighter colors, and transitional pieces, it's obvious that Spring fashion is in full bloom!

Some of the big trends we saw on the runway for Spring were pastels, statement bags, trench coats, checks (gingham is always a must this season), bold colors - especially yellow, and pencil skirts. Also, did I mention florals? Always a seasonal favorite, designers showcased a vintage inspired take on this beloved print. This Trina Turk dress is the perfect example of how designers are playing with this "new" (old) pattern for Spring 2018. The bell sleeves, and mix of green, blue and lavender are totally reminiscent of the 70's!

Next Thursday, March 8th, I am hosting Trina Turk's annual, "Spring Style Out" event at the Galleria, and would love it if you would join me!  They'll be debuting their Spring 2 collection and everyone will receive 20% off their purchase and be entered to win a $250 shopping spree. Full details below!
