Welcome to Wyatt's nursery!
I am so excited to finally share this special space with you. I started working on this post prior to his arrival, and am just getting around to finishing it up/publishing it now (#newmomlife). When I started brainstorming how to decorate the nursery, I knew I wanted it to be whimsical, playful, and relaxing. I wanted to incorporate boyish touches (blue hues, jungle animals), but also not steer too far away from my personal design aesthetic. It is the room I am going to be in the most after all!
I loved the theme of my baby shower, 'Tell Me a Story of Africa,' and wanted to carry that into his nursery. Like my shower, I wanted his nursery to exude an 'Out of Africa' type of feel. Adding natural wood, rattan, seagrass and macramé pieces really helped bring this concept to life. You may also recognize the Welcome sign (which now reads Camp Wyatt), and Born to Be Wild sign from the shower - fun additions, with added meaning!
I worked with Million Dollar Baby for all of the larger items in the room - the crib, dresser and recliner (ie the key items in any nursery). I decided to go with MDB because their pieces are streamlined yet sophisticated, and have an attainable price point. Added bonus: My crib is convertible into a toddler bed, day bed, and eventually a full sized bed. It is also Greenguard Gold Certified, meaning it's been tested for over 10,000 chemicals and passes the most stringent emission standards. It contributes to cleaner indoor air, creating a healthier environment for baby to sleep, play, and grow.
I've tried to link just about everything, but if there's something you're interested in that isn't linked, let me know:)
