A Very Special Birthday

Today's post is a special one devoted to my fiance, Adam, whose birthday is tomorrow! I felt it only fair that the man behind the camera (yes, he is my photographer!!!!), gets to be in front of the camera on his special day!

As I mentioned a few posts ago, we met in San Francisco, where we both lived for several years. Although we got engaged in New York, and had moved to Houston by the time we were engaged, we knew there was no better place than SF to have our engagement photos. These photos were taken last October and I am completely in love with them, so I like to share them every chance I get.

This is going to be a big surprise to him, because normally I proof read my blog posts to him before they go live. I definitely had to fly under the radar a little! Actually, it was Adam who encouraged me to start my career doing wardrobe consulting and fashion styling when we moved to Houston. He also was so supportive when I said I was starting a blog and never complains about taking the pictures for it...okay, every once in a while! He definitely has started to have an opinion about how I should pose and tries to make things very artsy. You should see some of the outtakes that don't make it to the blog. He has this uncanny ability to capture me at my most (least!) beautiful, like when my mouth is open, or hair is sticking to my lip gloss. Thanks, dear. At the end of the day, the blog has brought us closer together and I definitely could not do it without him, and I can't begin to ever thank him enough or let him know how much I appreciate his willingness to be involved.

So to my best friend, I wish you the happiest of birthdays. I am so lucky to have you in my life!

  1. Haha, so funny! I swear I have the same thing with my husband about the poses! That is so great that he encouraged you to start the blog & continues to do so! Happy birthday to your fiancé!

  2. How sweet is he, and how thoughtful of you to include him when he's putting in lots of legwork! Happy birthday to him, and these photos are absurdly lovely.
