Summer Staycation at the New Four Seasons Hotel Houston

Last weekend we checked into the "new" Four Seasons Hotel Houston for a little staycation. The downtown hotel recently got a Texas sized face lift, and from the moment you walk in the door, it is five star luxury at its finest.

With gorgeous white marble walls, accented perfectly with modern decor, it is the epitome of chic and effortless. I loved the mix of leather, velvet and metal in the furniture, and couldn't help but think it felt very Jonathan Adler - sophisticated and edgy.

After dropping our bags off in our gorgeous two bedroom executive suite on the 18th floor, we went to check out Bayou & Bottle. Bayou & Bottle is located just off the lobby, and serves over 125 varieties of bourbons and whiskeys (you can bet that Adam was excited). Not to mention they have fantastic bar snacks - hello, Salted Texas Whiskey Caramel Corn! - along with a lunch and dinner menu, as well.

Their drink menu was full of clever and unique libations. as well as tasting flights! I tried one of their signature cocktails, the La Dona, which had tequila, carpano bianco, chareau and lime bitters in it. Oh, and did I mention that when the drink was presented to you, the waiter would caramelize the sugar cube, aka the drink was set on fire! Haha. Highly recommend.

Tucked behind Bayou & Bottle is the country's only Topgolf Swing Suite. The Topgolf Swing Suite features two state of the art simulators for expert and novice golfers alike. Adam and I enjoyed getting a chance to try it out, and we'll definitely be bringing our friends back. It really is such a fun addition to the hotel! Each suite can be reserved for up to 15 people. and you don't need to be staying at the hotel to enjoy a few rounds of golf (plus, yummy food and drinks, too)!

After enjoying our Saturday night at Bayou & Bottle, and swinging away at Topgolf, starting Sunday with brunch at Quattro was just what the doctor ordered. I have been to Quattro a few times for brunch, and I knew we were in for a treat. For several years now, Quattro has been named the Best Brunch in Houston, and it is easy to see why. With multiple food stations, with items ranging from crepes, to caviar, eggs benedict, and 'pasta your way,' it literally has something for everyone. Just be sure to come hungry!

After enjoyeing multiple trips through the brunch buffet, we retreated to the pool. As soon as we stepped outside, it was hard to believe we were still in Houston. The pool area features over-sized day beds, relaxing lounge chairs, and a bustling bar. They come around every hour to offer you unique amenities, like cucumbers for the eyes, Evian misting spray. frozen grapes, and the perfect summer treat - popsicles! Did I mention they also make their own chips and salsa in-house? You know we had to get an order...or two!

After spending the day poolside, reading and playing a few games of ping pong and cornhole, we stayed in for the night. We enjoyed room service and a movie. I'm always a big proponent of room service, even if it is indulgent;)

The Four Seasons Hotel Houston was the perfect home away from home over Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time getting to experience all the fabulous things this hotel has to offer. They also just debuted their "Summer Social Series, which features two different events - a Live Art Bar and a Summer Music Festival, which is the perfect excuse to stop by and check out the hotel. If you're planning a trip to Houston, or live here and have guests coming in from out of town, look no further than the "new" Four Seasons. You won't be disappointed!
