It has been a busy few days since getting back from New Orleans. Doesn't it always seem that way? Whether your trip is for leisure or work, it never ceases to amaze me that upon returning, I feel like I need another vacation! haha. Especially this time, because I have family flying into town today, and we just got back home on Sunday. Not to mention, I head to Washington D.C. at the end of this weekend. Someone send me to the spa, already!

I am really excited for Washington D.C. though. I have been countless times, but not since high school, and I cannot wait to go back (although I'm disappointed I'm missing the cherry blossoms by a few short weeks). I am going there to be a part of the Arthritis Advocacy Summit. The advocacy summit is all about learning how to advocate for yourself and/or those you love, that suffer from the disease. You also get a chance to meet with members of Congress to discuss having more funding, less out of pocket costs, and to educate them about the importance of finding a cure. I've never done something like this before and I definitely am excited, but really nervous. I have a few friends going from Houston, so it'll be nice to have familiar faces around, and to meet more people that are going through the same thing in their day-to-day life.

Recently I had the chance to open up a bit more about my journey with my friend and fellow blogger, Julie Lauren. Julie is an author (already starting her second book), a freelance writer, and a lifestyle blogger, not to mention one of the kindest and funniest people I know. Literally I think we out-talk one another! Click here to read my interview with Julie, and be sure to follow her blog and Instagram to for great reads and inspirational posts.

  1. To participate a formal party you always need a good dress. For me, I love wearing a sexy birthday dresses. It makes me look sexy and it's comfortable.
