When I first moved to Houston I was overwhelmed with big-city life. Growing up in small town Colorado & Wisconsin, San Francisco seemed sprawling to me when I moved there, and it was only 7 miles by 7 miles! So you can probably guess that I was a bit nervous about what to expect from the fourth largest city, and trust me, the adjustment to driving everywhere was one of the biggest challenges. It took me a while to find things, but quickly, I became familiar with the city and carved out my favorite nooks.

One of those favorite places became  River Oaks Shopping Center. In this 322,000sq ft shopping center there is so much to do, and more than just shopping. Although they have countless boutiques and chain stores like Gap, Talbots, and J.McLaughlin, ROSC is a one stop shop for lots of other things, as well. From dining, to movies, a grocery store, Barnes & Noble, nail salons, a barbershop, Starbucks (of course), and fitness facilities, among countless other things. There is so much to do in one place, and you don't have to move your car (added bonus to me)!

Fitness has been a focus of mine, especially with bikini season just around the corner. I have been trying my hardest to stay focused and eat well, and have started getting back on my workout regimen, which includes tennis, golf, biking, and walking. I had been looking for a full-body workout, and was happy when I realized the there were a few fitness places conveniently located in ROS. Among them are Ryde (an indoor spinning studio), River Oaks Fitness and Pure Barre - enough choices for me!

I stopped by Luke's Locker first to pick up a cute new workout outfit. You can never sacrifice fashion - ha! And how fun is this top and these leggings?! They had a great selection of brands to choose from, a lot of which I had never heard of (like Varley and Dona Jo - pictured), and now I can't wait to visit again the next time my workout wardrobe needs to be spruced up! They also have a great selection of tennis shoes too!
