Leopard on the Loose

David Peck Snow Leopard vest | Forever 21 skirt [old, similar style] | American Apparel leotard top | Valentino Rockstud heels | Henri Bendel sunglasses [last season, this season] | Necklace purchased while traveling in Morocco

When I moved to Houston from San Francisco nearly two years ago in November, I wasn't sure what to expect from the 'fashion scene' here. I had never been to Houston before my fiance was transferred here for his job, so I truly didn't know what would await me in the fourth largest city in the U.S.  I was pleasantly surprised, ok ... thrilled, when I heard about local designer, David Peck. As soon as I was introduced to his clothing, I wanted everything and it soon became a danger to my wallet!

Not only are Peck's clothes stunning, unique and perfectly fitted, but everything is made here in Houston. His spacious but intimate showroom connects to his factory, where you can directly meet the people who are making your clothing, which is truly a special experience.

Since then, it has been hard to resist anything Peck makes, which was exactly the case when I came across this leopard print vest. My love affair with animal print began when I first visited Africa when I was twelve years old, and has continued ever since. Pairing this faux fur high-low vest with a simple mustard mini skirt and black leotard, let me focus on my accessories, and I love my accessories. As Michael Kor's once said, "I've always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman's outfit." I couldn't have said it better.

I hope you all have a fun and safe weekend!
