Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial Day is a time to honor those men and women who gave their lives serving our country. It is important to remember that we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. It's definitely a day to feel grateful and reflective - thank you to them and their families.

On a lighter note, I hope you are enjoying your long weekend. Ours was full of burgers, movies, and a lot of rest and relaxation!

With summer now in full swing, I've rounded up my five must-have pieces below!

Little White Dress
Trade in your go-to little black dress for a LWD this summer. Go for a looser fit. It'll look more casual, cool and effortless. What better way to show off that bronzed skin? I just bought this one - obsessed!

Tassel Earrings
I can't get enough of tassel earrings right now, If you're looking for the next accessory to purchase this season, look no further. Coming in a range of colors, lengths and price points, nothing goes better with a cocktail dress, jean shorts or a swimsuit. The Belle Bijoux earrings I'm wearing are one of my favorite and come in ten colors, and I'm loving these as well.

Pom Pom Sandals
Nothing shines brighter than bold, colorful sandals. Why not top them off with pom poms, tassels to make them the talk of summer?  Handmade in Greece, my favorite pairs are by Dimitras Workshop - they are out if this world. Shop them here

Mini Tote
The mini tote has been one of the trendiest pieces this year, and there's no stopping it for summer either. My Quilted Koala version comes in brights and metallic silver (shown above), and can be dressed up or down.

Anything Off-the-Shoulder
This trend is hot, hot, hot! Revealing so little never looked so sexy. Whether it's a dress or a top, there are countless cute pieces at any budget. Make sure the piece is made with quality elastic so it can withstand multiple washes, and summer fiestas. I'm loving this top, and this dress

Be sure to join me Wednesday on the blog for a very special post! Psst, it's my one year blogaversary - you won't want to miss this!

Recap of My Trina Turk Shopping Party

Trina Turk dress ℅ | Manolo Blahnik heels (similar style here) | Kendra Scott bracelets (here & here) | BP hoop earrings (only $10) | Belt from my grandmother! (similar style here) | Roberto Cavalli sunglasses (similar style here - only $10)

I wanted to start today's post with a little shout out to my amazing grandmother who reads every blog post, responds to each one and tells me what she likes (and sometimes doesn't like!), and makes me feel like a million bucks - thank you, Meme. Plus, she's the one I got all these great belts from that you all love so much, and this one is no exception. When I wore this gorgeous Trina Turk dress to my shopping party at their boutique the other week, it was all anyone wanted to talk about! I love the seashell detail.

My shopping event at the store went off without a hitch, even with dreadful storms on and off. I don't know what it is this year, but the rain certainly doesn't want to leave us alone. My friends and I enjoyed champagne, wine and delicious madeleines and mini lemon meringue pies while we shopped the summer collection, which also includes a Finding Dory capsule collection. Remember, Nemo's friend voiced by Ellen Degeneres? Pixar is coming out with another film next month.

My wonderful friends at LMS sent along some goodies for the swag bags from their clients, which included barkThins (if you haven't tried you don't know what you're missing), RUNA, and Wilde. The bag also included a gorgeous Trina Turk scarf, as well! For some of us, that wasn't the only bag in our hands when we left - it was hard not to buy the whole store, especially when the store it's closed just for you and your friends to play in. It definitely was a fantastic girl's night out, and I want to give a big thank you to the whole Trina Turk team at the Galleria, they were wonderful!

Here are my top picks this season!

Your Perfect Go-To Summer Dress

Leith dress | Vera Bradley purse ℅ | Sam Edelman sandals | Diane Von Furstenberg sunglasses (similar style here) | Necklace (similar style here) | Accessory Concierge spike bracelet, nail bracelet & love bracelet ℅ | Brenda Grands black bead bracelet (similar style here) | Zayver Designs earrings (similar style here - under $5)

Happy  Monday!

Is it me, or did the weekend fly by wayyyyy too quickly?  I feel like time is buzzing by so fast - there are so many events, vacations and deadlines coming up, it's hard to keep everything straight. Plus, I have so much exciting news to share with you, so it is tough to stay mum about it, but stay tuned .I promise it's worth it!

With summer just around the corner (hello, Memorial Day on Sunday), there's nothing I like more than a go-to dress (yes, I say this ALL the time). It wasn't until recently that I came across this streamlined, simple, tank dress, and knew it was 'the one.' This dress comes in five fantastic colors (yes, I ordered every color), is under $50, and runs true-to-size (I am wearing an XS). The fabric is thick enough that it isn't see-through, but is also not too heavy for the hot, humid weather ahead.  Not to mention, how fantastic is this girly purse from Vera Bradley? It has three separate compartments to fit all your essentials, as well as a discrete flap in the front of the bag for you to easily store your cell phone. I literally cannot get enough of it.

Patterns & Prints

Tobi dress ℅ | Kent Stetson clutch ℅ | Just Fab heels (similar style here - tons of colors and under $60) | Forever 21 necklace (similar style here & here) | Wrsitology watch ℅ | Henri Bendel sunglasses

TGIF!

These bold yellow heels and this geometric clutch have me already feeling like it's the weekend! I have been obsessed with every piece from Kent Stetson recently. His clutches are so unique and definitely make a statement. You know you won't be walking into a room full of women carrying the same bag with this standout piece.  They may not be for the timid at heart, but they speak volumes, and they're made right here in the USA. Shop his collection here - if these handbags don't turn your frown upside down, I don't know what will! I paired his colorful paint clutch with my Trina Turk jumpsuit last week.

This striped dress from Tobi, is out of jersey, and is the perfect item to throw on for a night out or for brunch (I am wearing a small). Plus, it's perfect for the warmer temps we've been having, and the side slit adds just a touch of oomph to this otherwise casual dress. Shop Tobi's other must have pieces like maxi dresses, blouses, shorts, bodycon dresses, and denim.
Spend over $50 and your shipping is free and there's always free returns!

Hope you have a great weekend! xo

Pretty Little Paisley

The Pulse Boutique dress ℅  (similar here & here)  | St Nicola purse  ℅  | Miu Miu heels (similar style here - comes in five colors) | Quay Australia sunglasses | Necklace (similar style here) | Bracelet (similar style here)

I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far.

It has been a wet and dreary week here in Houston. I don't know what it is, but when the weather is like this, there is nothing I want to do more than sleep! I've been going to bed soooo early, and feel like I still can't get caught up. Does that ever happen to you? I always think I'll catch up on the weekends, but surely enough, when they roll around, we're up until 1am binge watching a show. We're currently on the second season of Rome. I know it's from a few years ago, but I didn't have HBO then, and I am completely obsessed! I just want to watch it all at one time!

Speaking of the weekend, this outfit has me feeling like it's Friday night. Who doesn't like wearing a mini-dress when they go out? As soon as I showed Adam these photos he said, "I think that's supposed to be a shirt." Haha. Whether it is or isn't, I absolutely love the print and color scheme of this paisley dress. The material is so soft, too. Unfortunately it's not longer available, but I linked two similar ones here and here.

The Purrfeect Leopard Print Dress from Tobi

Tobi dress  | Sam Edelman sandals | H&M necklace (similar style here) | Shein earrings (under $5!) | Zayver Designs cougar bracelet | Hermes bracelet | Henri Bendel bracelet | Henri Bendel sunglasses | Prada purse (similar style for a fraction of the price, here) | Hat (similar style here)

Happy Monday, everyone! How was your weekend?

I can tell this Monday is going to be a more than one cup of coffee kind of day. We were out a bit past our bedtime last night, because we went to go see Rihanna in concert...again (shh, it was only my third time)! She definitely did not disappoint and put on an amazing show. The stamina it takes to move from city to city, and country to country must be such an exhausting task. I know I wouldn't be capable of it, yet I'm always amazed at the level of energy the performers have. It must be pretty intoxicating looking out onto a stadium full of several thousand people who are all there just for you. So there's no time to be tired! ha.

One thing I definitely never tire of is leopard print. It's one of my guilty pleasures, and whether it's on a blanket, throw pillow, or dress, I have a hard time resisting anything in this fierce print.

This Tobi dress has been a go-to of mine recently. I was laughing with my photographer, Lauren, last week, that if she saw me out and about in "real life," that this is what I would actually be wearing. As much as I love fancy, frilly outfits, you can't run to the grocery store or the post office in them. This dress is a great length and weight for summer, and can be dressed up or down. I paired it with a leather jacket and wedges for a night out with the girl's, and have worn this head-to-toe look above more times than I'm willing to admit. It's currently on sale for $22, and I'm wearing a size small for reference.

Be sure to check out Tobi for cute, summer ready casual dresses, cardigans, rompers, evening dresses, jumpsuits, and crop tops. First time customers receive 50% off!

Day-to-Night at River Oaks Shopping Center

Varley top Luke's Locker | Dona Jo leggings ℅ Luke's Locker (I am wearing a size 1) | New Balance tennis shoes (similar style) | Wristology watch ℅ | Kendra Scott earrings | RayBan aviatorsSudio earbuds  (use code Ashley15 for 15% off)

When I first moved to Houston I was overwhelmed with big-city life. Growing up in small town Colorado & Wisconsin, San Francisco seemed sprawling to me when I moved there, and it was only 7 miles by 7 miles! So you can probably guess that I was a bit nervous about what to expect from the fourth largest city, and trust me, the adjustment to driving everywhere was one of the biggest challenges. It took me a while to find things, but quickly, I became familiar with the city and carved out my favorite nooks.

One of those favorite places became  River Oaks Shopping Center. In this 322,000sq ft shopping center there is so much to do, and more than just shopping. Although they have countless boutiques and chain stores like Gap, Talbots, and J.McLaughlin, ROSC is a one stop shop for lots of other things, as well. From dining, to movies, a grocery store, Barnes & Noble, nail salons, a barbershop, Starbucks (of course), and fitness facilities, among countless other things. There is so much to do in one place, and you don't have to move your car (added bonus to me)!

Fitness has been a focus of mine, especially with bikini season just around the corner. I have been trying my hardest to stay focused and eat well, and have started getting back on my workout regimen, which includes tennis, golf, biking, and walking. I had been looking for a full-body workout, and was happy when I realized the there were a few fitness places conveniently located in ROS. Among them are Ryde (an indoor spinning studio), River Oaks Fitness and Pure Barre - enough choices for me!

I stopped by Luke's Locker first to pick up a cute new workout outfit. You can never sacrifice fashion - ha! And how fun is this top and these leggings?! They had a great selection of brands to choose from, a lot of which I had never heard of (like Varley and Dona Jo - pictured), and now I can't wait to visit again the next time my workout wardrobe needs to be spruced up! They also have a great selection of tennis shoes too!
